40 Questions We’re Afraid to Ask #16
Who’s your BFF (best friend forever)? What makes you believe they’ll really be your best friend forever? Would “forever” really make much difference in this moment if you were in a state of crisis in which you needed someone in whom you could put your absolute complete trust? What if you were to find yourself in situation (hopefully temporarily, but perhaps not) that would require you to turn absolutely every intimate and private aspect of your life over to another human being? Who would that person be? Is there another human being in your life right now who would qualify for that responsibility?
What if you were to find yourself in a situation in which someone else had to make a decision that would literally be a matter of life and death for you? Is there anyone in your life right now whom you would trust with that decision?
It’s easy to say, “I would trust [fill in the blank] with my life,” but is that really, sincerely, unquestionably true?
We should all be blessed enough to have someone in our life who could be the object of that statement.
Perhaps a companion question might be, “Who in my life right now would trust me with theirs, and am I worthy of that level of trust?”
