Why am I not moving forward?

40 Questions We’re Afraid to Ask -#39

What do I need to do differently in order to move forward? What do I need to do differently in order to move forward?

Do I find myself asking, “Why isn’t my life moving forward, or moving in the direction I’d like it to move?”  Am I also brave enough or determined enough to ask the more important question, “What do I need to do differently to get my live moving forward?”

As with so many questions we’ve asked in the series, and as I’ve said in previous posts, the answers to the questions of my life are right here, deep inside me.  I often just don’t ask the right questions, and the answer to this very question of what I need to do differently in order to start moving forward may be embedded in one or more of the many other questions we’ve already explored in this series, such as whether there is something I need to let go of, or if I’m trying to be somebody I’m really not, or if there’s something in my life that I’ve simply given up on, or if there are mistakes I just keep making over and over again expecting different results.

Your life changes the moment you make a new, congruent, and committed decision. Change can happen in a moment.

The only thing that holds me back from making changes, from doing things differently and moving forward with my life is the decision to make that change, and that is always what takes the most time.

I can start by asking what can be a very difficult question, then simply stop . . . take time to be silent . . . and listen . . . then be brave enough to follow through with the answer.
